HSE Excellence
As part of sustained efforts to improve safety, the Keppel Group launched the ‘Safety Starts with Me - Together We Care’ campaign in 2009.
To build up a work-safe environment, the campaign aims to instil in everyone the importance of looking out for one another and to significantly enhance safety ownership among all stakeholders, including subcontractors.
‘Together We Care’ is a continuation of the ‘Safety Starts with Me’ campaign launched in 2008, which promotes a sense of personal and collective responsibility to ensure that everyone returns home safely at the end of each work day.
In the first quarter of 2009, the Keppel Group achieved a lower Accident Frequency Rate (AFR) of 0.33 reportable cases for every million man-hours worked. This improvement builds on its track record of 0.4 for its 2008 AFR.
Environmental Protection
Keppel O&M’s commitment to sustainable development not only aims to protect the environment but also to ensure responsible and efficient operations.
To minimise the impact of our daily operations and activities on the environment, the principle of reduce, reuse and recycle has been implemented throughout our organisational system and corporate practices.
Keppel O&M’s shipyards around the globe also consistently support environmental protection activities and events by making positive contributions to the communities in which they operate.
Beyond the workplace, employees are also encouraged to make protection of the environment their way of life.
